OUR CULTURE CLUB
The club is a satire on arrogance, patronage and corruption in the arts in Iceland. Special attention will be paid to the achievements of artists who are not selected from the so called elite society and by politically appointed committees that distribute all kinds of concessions from the government to their friends, relatives and also themselves in most positions that concern art in this country, time and again. The club’s exhibitions also explore the impact of works on the larger field of visual culture, design and architecture.
The Exhibition Club is a charitable non- profit organization supported by its members, individual donors, corporate funders and foundations for the Arts.
The Exhibition Club will exhibit 8 Artists per year. The Gallery takes 30% for commission of each sold work at the exhibition. Individuals and small companies can as well rent the space for some hours for small meetings, events and great parties by arrangements. We will do our best to make our small Gallery recognized as one of most innovative visual arts institutions in the country at top of the world.
